Your hot air balloon flight
We fly over the Gold Coast area for a wonderful 1 hour balloon flight every morning at sunrise – weather permitting.
Your Balloon Down Under Experience begins just before sunrise. Ballooning everywhere in Australia is always an early morning activity, because that is when the winds are at their most gentle.
When you make your booking you will be advised where and when we will meet you and what to wear to wear/bring.
A complimentary pick-up and return service is available for visitors to the Gold Coast. This service is provided to visitors staying anywhere on the Gold Coast, from Sanctuary Cove to Coolangatta.
Meeting point
Local passengers are met at the 5 star Palm Meadows Golf Resort (get map), Gooding Drive, Carrara. At Palm Meadows drive in along the curving driveway, across the white bridge and at the speed hump in the road turn right into the golf club car park. That's where we'll meet you.
From Palm Meadows we head off, in our vehicles, to the balloon launch site selected by the pilot for the morning’s flight. We choose from 20 or so launch sites scattered throughout the Gold Coast region, with the selection being made based on the wind direction and speed on the morning of your flight.
Our trained and ever-smiling balloon crew will provide morning tea/coffee/biscuits on the launch site while the balloon is being set up for flight – you can assist the crew as the balloon is inflated. 
Once aboard the wicker basket your magical flight begins. The launch is so gentle you will not even realise that you have left the ground. The peace and gentleness of ballooning will surprise you and the views are outstanding. Your pilot will point out all the Gold Coast landmarks and places of interest as the flight proceeds. Drifting gently over the Gold Coast landscape for one hour allows you ample time to take in the panoramic views of the Gold Coast from skimming over the tree tops to up to 2,000 feet high. Your pilot will point out all the points of interest and the landmarks seen from the balloon as he steers the balloon to its landing site. Steering the balloon is achieved by the pilot changing height, so as to use the varying wind speeda and direction found at varying heights. Your pilot can rotate the balloon during the flight so that everyone gets to see all the views.
Our exclusive "flying" camera will record your flight from its very unusual location, with all the pictures available for purchase on a CD after the flight.
After the balloon lands we invite all our passengers to join the crew in the fun of the balloon pack-up. When completed we all enjoy a welcome bottle of cool water -
And then it’s back for breakfast!!
